Touring Christchurch 1.0

On the first day I walked around downtown Christchurch, and vistied the Botanic Gardens. Christchurch is known in NZ as the "garden city", after walking around and taking these photos, its easy to see why. This is easily one of the prettiest cities I have ever visited.

I took these photos shotly after arriving in Christchurch while I was walking around downtown before lunch. After eating I visted the Botanic Gardens, which was fantastic to walk around in the lush green surroundings, sun shining, before shipping off to the frozen Antarctic wastes.

My B&B in Christchurch

I finally arrived in Christchurch after I don't know how many hours of travelling. Most of the USAP people are staying within a few block of downtown, so we can share shuttle rides to the airport and Polar Services Center. I am staying at the Grange St. B&B:

Airports all look the same . . .

The travel itererary:

Jacksonville, FL -> Miami, FL
Miami, FL -> Los Angeles, CA
Los Angeles, VA -> Auckland, NZ
Auckland, NZ -> Christchurch, NZ

Needless to say, I spent a lot of time on planes and in airports. About 2 days to be exact. Here are a couple of pictures of airports across the world:
